In the Past
 

Thousand years ago, a great war ravaged the magical Three Realms. Dwarv, Hum, and Elv all fought each other in this never-ending conflict. And although no one died directly as a result of this war, many people did grieve. These Grief Wars affected the fabric of all societies deeply and lasted for centuries until a new land and a new way of thinking were discovered. The settlers of this New Land led to the end of the war and a new political system emerged to keep the peace. Lead by the Council of Magicians and stationed at mighty Castle Now-Here, peace and tranquility has been all the Realms have known for centuries. For although centuries have passed, many people have not forgotten old biases and grudges. These conflicts have been the focus of the Council... up until now.

In the Present
 

the Realms there have been disruptions in magic, known as Disruptures, which are causing harm everywhere and threaten to overwhelm. You, the Player, have been recruited by the Council to find out everything about these Disruptures to try to stop them if you can. However, the external dangers are exacerbated by the internal scheming of the Council. As such, you must first convince the Council of the error of their ways and then enlist their help if you ever hope to truly solve the problem of the Disruptures. Complimenting this adventure, there is a rich physical exploration of the lands. In the Realms, physics has been forgotten or even suppressed in light of what magic can do. In some areas it is illegal to use magic; in others it is tradition. The main purpose of this plot is to dole out pedagogical content and thus while the secondary plot, it is of primary importance.

In the Future
 

What happens next is up to you... if you don’t stop the Disruptures, there will be nothing left of the Realms but a barren wasteland reminder of what used to be. The lands are torn by the ravages of the Disruptures and there is no one to be seen. Furious magical energies are constantly unleashed and threaten anyone there. And if you don’t stop the Council, who knows what terrors will be unleashed by their erroneous decisions. On the other hand, you could stop the Disruptures and the Council and the worlds of Hum, Elv, and Dwarv would be spared... it’s really up to you!
